Metaphysical Interiors
  1974-75

Read About the Series

The works in this period were influenced by the Italian Metaphysical painters of the early 20th century, such as Giorgio de Chirico and Carlo Carra. The works from this time were a continuation of the neo-surrealist imagery the artist had been associated with since the early 70's.  It was also a homage to Mediterranean classicism which included poetic interpretations of mythologies, symbols  and references  to legends such as Atlantis.
